As Director of Human-Centered Design, Jamie’s drive for understanding human behaviors, motivations and beliefs guides teams to design delightful solutions that help people to be their best selves. Jamie has been designing, developing and leading innovation programs since 2012. In 2015, Jamie launched the 5x5 Startups program, running 17 challenges in 11 countries, with a 78% success rate of budget to commercialize the innovation. She moved to Bayer’s G4A Ventures team in 2018, to embed behavioral sciences into G4A initiatives - centering on perspectives and struggles of intended users of solutions and their influencers. Her passions are continual learning and coaching, and making connections between societal trends and technology across diverse industries. Jamie has worked in Germany as an expat for 3 years, and then localized in Germany, and is now on assignment in San Francisco, and will move to the US in 2019. Prior to leading the global open innovation programs and coming to G4A, Jamie worked across many function within Bayer, including Chief Infrastructure Architect, Head of Social Media, and Chemist. She built Bayer’s first Intranet and developed two chemicals for the pigment garment dying industry. She authored “Multimedia Exploration” in 1995, and was Adjunct Professor at Robert Morris University for 11 years, teaching Network Security in undergraduate and graduate courses. Her content was transformed into a new program at Robert Morris in Internet Security.. Jamie has an undergraduate degree in Food Science, an MBA and a doctorate in Information Systems and Communication. She loves reading fiction and non-fiction and walks at least 10K steps nearly every day.
